Ok, fine I'll chime in, I was gonna let this blow over since actual important things like a very near yet pointless pending war with Syria are happening all around, but this one has been dragged in over the line, as someone was sure to eventually do!
Here's a link to the article, let's see what you guys think!

Firstly, when did people stop learning how to sing live, damn you Antares autotune, no one can hit notes or pick keys or latch onto a pitch anymore!
Secondly, this article, which I am sure is near and dear to Anne Theriault's heart is frankly as far from truth as it gets. Cyrus' performance was awful for the EXACT reasons that people say it was, there was no hidden mystery to it, though at least the illuminati people aren't chiming in yet!
I do not know where this whole race thing came from as of late, probably Martin/ Zimmerman, though it was around before even that, but that is all this article is, more race baiting that no one needs and is untrue and unfounded.
The article portrays Cyrus as some sort of super selective racist, whatever that is. It makes claims that Cyrus is somehow picking and choosing what parts of the african american race she likes, namely the sexual aspects, and leaving the others as racist against blacks, a little contradictory is it not?
This article attempts to portray black women as super sexual beings, citing rachet culture, the beauty of naked black women. Honestly what I got out of this article is that blacks are overly sexual creatures hiding in the shadows and held captive by the likes of powerful whites like Cyrus. That's it, that's what the whole article was about, that's what it wanted us to get.
Background dancers have always been the object of the desires of the lead singer- or at least the producers in charge of the whole operation- therefore this is nothing new. Just because one happened to be black and used as a prop on stage- live theater is definitely nothing new- means nothing, it's not racist, I can guarantee you that this article would not have been so potent if it were a white background dancer!
While this is a post about the senseless race baiting that's been going on lately, I will glance over the idea of the overt sexuality of modern life. Now, what people do in their own private homes and what they feel about themselves is their deal, I'm not here to tell anybody how to live or think or feel or act! Even if I wanted to I could not do it, only people can change themselves.
That being said, we reap what we sow. While Cyrus' performance was sexually over the top- in my and obviously many others opinions- it's the culture that she's been brought up in, we've all been permeated in, did anyone NOT see this coming? Was her "performance" really a cry for attention? Or was it what she thought was right to do as it's something that's been done before and something that she would have grown up with? Is it that unreasonable to say that she was pressured into doing what she did, whether she wanted to or not? While there are certainly a lot of variables in this, those are absolutely questions that need to be considered.
That being said, that's enough about pop culture for now, tomorrow or Thursday I'll get back to the good stuff, Syria, life, whatever else pops into my mind!
Until then, good readings, safe travels; live long, live strong, love God.
